About the Role

Rainbow-Themes is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality & Release Lead/Engineer to take ownership of the path from development completion to production readiness. The selected candidate will design and implement test strategies, automate quality gates, and ensure every deployment is secure, observable, and reversible when needed. This role offers flexibility in title and scope based on experience and leadership capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Architecture

• Define pragmatic testing layers, including unit, integration, API, E2E, performance, and visual regression.

• Build and maintain automated E2E suites (Playwright/Cypress) and API test suites (Postman/Newman or code-based).

CI/CD & Release Management

• Implement opinionated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).

• Manage artifact signing, semantic versioning, changelogs, and predictable release cycles.

• Orchestrate canary or blue-green releases with automated rollback capability.

Security & Compliance Gates

• Integrate SAST, DAST, and SCA tools (Semgrep, OWASP ZAP, Dependabot/Snyk).

• Maintain proper secrets management, SBOM creation, and release checklists.

Environments & Data Management

• Manage ephemeral preview environments for each pull request.

• Design realistic seed data strategies and maintain safe test data pipelines.

Observability & Reliability

• Define SLOs and error budgets.

• Create and maintain dashboards for logs, metrics, and traces using Grafana, Prometheus, or Sentry.

• Ensure system uptime through monitoring and synthetic checks.

UAT & Client Sign-off

• Run UAT cycles, validate acceptance criteria, and deliver Production Readiness Reports for each release.

Coaching & Process Improvement

• Reduce flaky tests and mentor teams on building systems that are testable by design.

• Establish and enforce testing and release standards across projects.

Required Skills and Expertise

• 4–8+ years of experience in QA, SDET, or DevOps-related roles (Lead: 7–10+).

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end testing.

• Solid experience with API testing using Postman/Newman or code-based frameworks.

• Deep understanding of CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent).

• Experience with containerized deployments (Docker).

• Working knowledge of security testing (SAST/DAST/SCA).

• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript testing tools.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills for managing release quality gates.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have (Web3 Experience)

• EVM testing using Hardhat or Foundry (unit, fuzz, invariants).

• Familiarity with Slither/static analysis and mainnet-fork simulations.

• Understanding of upgrade/proxy safety and gas profiling.

• Experience verifying indexer/subgraph correctness.

• Basic familiarity with Bitcoin regtest or signet environments.
