About the Role

Rainbow-Themes is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and streamline the release lifecycle—from development to production. Responsibilities include collaboration across DevOps, DevSecOps, and cloud-native platforms to maintain secure, automated, and reliable infrastructure. The position places a strong emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud-native architectures, automation, security, and scalable deployment workflows. Core responsibilities include designing CI/CD pipelines, improving observability, strengthening security controls, and ensuring high-quality, resilient deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain microservices and serverless architectures using GCP services, with Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Automate application, platform, and infrastructure deployments through advanced CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab.
• Lead configuration management and infrastructure automation using GCP-native IaC solutions.
• Establish and maintain full observability across applications and pipelines using Google Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and related GCP-native tools.
• Ensure secure and compliant GCP environments by applying least-privilege, zero-trust, and defense-in-depth principles across services and deployment workflows.
• Support and enhance security, privacy, and policy controls using GCP IAM, Cloud KMS, certificate management systems, and related security tools.
• Optimize performance and scalability of cloud-native data services on GCP, including SQL/NoSQL databases and streaming systems.
• Lead incident response, troubleshoot production issues, and implement long-term fixes and automation.
• Promote automation by identifying and streamlining tasks to improve reliability and efficiency.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Strong self-starter mindset with a solution-oriented approach able to treat challenges as learning and growth opportunities.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Bash/Shell, Python, or other modern programming/scripting languages (proficiency in more than one preferred).
• Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) familiarity.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps / DevSecOps / DevDataOps principles and practices.
• Practical experience with GCP cloud-native services and architectures, including deploying and managing microservices using GCP tools.
• Strong IaC and automation experience using tools like Terraform and Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong communication skills, capable of working independently and collaborating with distributed teams.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to evolving cloud technologies, tools, and best practices.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have.

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or DevDataOps roles with a strong focus on cloud-native environments.
• Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using GCP-native tools and frameworks.
• Hands-on production support experience on GCP, including incident response, change management, performance tuning, and capacity planning for cloud services.
• GCP, Kubernetes or Terraform Associate certifications are strong advantages.
• Experience building end-to-end automated CI/CD pipelines with integrated security scanning, policy enforcement, and data validation workflows—ideally using GCP services.
